The
Steppin' Up Performance Group
Mission: To improve children's performance abilities and self esteem
opportunities to perform and interact with the community
This
group is made up of children between the ages of seven and eighteen who
desire more opportunities to perform and showcase their dance skills.
They perform at special events, put on shows for the community, and have
the option of attending local dance workshops.

This
year we would like to introduce
The Steppin' Up Competition Team
This
is a new division of the Steppin' Up Performance Group created to
provide motivated dancers with extra opportunities to take from industry
professionals, compete in local competitions, and travel to summer
events in addition to the community performances.
While DANCE TIME
students win
their share of top awards at competitions, DANCE TIME
does not
believe “Winning is Everything”. Winning at competitions or competitive
events is certainly a desirable goal, but it should be the natural result
of determination, good attitude, good training, hard work, excellent
choreography, and tasteful costume choices. There is much to be learned
from just participating in competitive events. Second and third place
trophies are also treasured as milestones marking a student’s growth
both in technique and presentation. Students need to learn good
sportsmanship, and how to encourage others to do their best even when
they are competing against them. Character is developed through
learning the right attitudes and putting competition in the proper
perspective. Learning to enjoy the journey will make them real winners
in life’s important challenges.
