Mission ~

It is DANCE TIME's mission to provide a loving environment where children may learn, experience, and perform a variety of dance forms.  DANCE TIME places special emphasis on providing a positive, quality learning experience, proper dance technique, age appropriate music, and costume selections which reflect good taste and modesty.

Communities Served ~

DANCE TIME's  students typically live in Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, Bothell, and Woodinville,Washington.  However, it is not uncommon to have students from as far away as Issaquah, Renton, and Maple Valley to the South, and Monroe, Lynnwood, and Everett to the North.

History ~

DANCE TIME was founded in 1989 by Jan Palmer near the current facility.  The original facility was just 1400 square feet and had two fairly small dance rooms.  In 1994 DANCE TIME moved to its current location which occupies 4400 square feet and features a large lobby, three nice size dance rooms, dressing areas, and an office. Jan Palmer, DANCE TIME’s director, grew up taking dance classes.  She began her training at the age of 5 and by the time she was 14, she was serving as a teacher’s assistant at small town studio in Iowa.  By the time she reached 18, she was an accredited member of the Chicago National Association Of Dance Masters and owned and operated her own studio.  She continued to operate her business very successfully until 1971, when she and her husband decided to move to Tennessee where she would be able to devote her time to raising her son. A few years later she gave birth to a daughter, Danielle.  Jan focused her life on being a good mother and instilling in her children good family values.

In 1986 she began teaching again as her daughter became more interested in dancing and showed a very high aptitude for learning dance skills.  In 1989, Jan opened DANCE TIME with a determination to provide high quality dance instruction, controlled class sizes, proper technique, and a friendly family atmosphere.

Today, DANCE TIME has nine instructors who handle over five hundred student hours per week.  For a few students DANCE TIME is literally a home away from home where they spend as much as 10 hours a week in class.  Students and parents are looked upon more like family than customers by all of DANCE TIME staff and it is the friendly family feeling along with the high technical standards that attract most of DANCE TIME’s families.
